We founded Shine Social and Communities because we believe in a society that accepts and supports individual choice for a better life: your life, your choice.

Individually we started this journey through childhood, education, employment, and our strong passion for difference, that is how we came together to make dream a reality. We both grew up in a family with siblings with disability and mental health, where we experienced the stigma, judgement and the impact on individuals, families, and communities.

We have also seen the impact when people support each other and achieve their goals – they shine!

We live in a diverse world with growing inclusivity, however there is long way to go. Individuals face complex challenges and barriers to reaching their goals. Society is evolving but there is still stigma, judgement and misunderstanding and the conversation is still on disability and mental health, not individual ability. We all need to advocate and empower choice; to live your best life.

We want to be part of the solution: by being empowered, supported, and enabled, everyone can have the opportunity to accomplish their dreams.
