An apostille in Pakistan is a form of international document authentication used for countries that are members of the Hague Apostille Convention. Since Pakistan joined the convention in 2022, individuals and businesses can now get documents apostilled through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) for use in over 100 countries. Apostille is commonly required for educational documents, birth and marriage certificates, power of attorney, and other legal paperwork intended for use abroad. Unlike embassy attestation, apostille is a one-step process that confirms the document’s authenticity and validity in another member country. It greatly simplifies international legal processes and is widely used for immigration, work permits, and foreign admissions.
