1. WHAT IS A CONTINUOUS CARBONIZATION FURNACE?
A continuous carbonization furnace is a next-generation, environmentally friendly biomass carbonization system. Biomass passes through the carbonization chamber and is converted into charcoal (biochar) in a continuous 24-hour cycle, far outperforming batch kilns in output. The whole process is oxygen-controlled and self-sustaining: combustible gases generated during pyrolysis are recovered, cleaned and recirculated back into the system, so the plant is largely self-powered and emits no harmful gases.

2. ENGINEERING DESIGN & PROCESS FLOW
Turnkey process chain: crushing -> drying -> feeding -> carbonization -> discharging -> combustible gas recovery -> exhaust gas treatment -> briquetting.
- Pre-processing (optional): the crushing system reduces raw material to under 20 mm; the drying system brings moisture below 15%.
- Feeding: raw biomass (sawdust, wood chips, crushed coconut shell, rice husk) is automatically fed into the main furnace via conveyor belt, screw feeder or Z-belt.
- Pyrolysis stages: at ~250 C demethylation begins and combustible gas is released; at ~280 C the exothermic reaction starts - hydrocarbon molecules split into smaller carbon molecules and hydrogen and charcoal formation begins; at ~450 C aromatic-ring compounds react, producing stable, aromatized biochar.
- Discharging: a three-stage water-cooling discharger cools the charcoal below 45 C before collection. An optional condenser separates tar (biomass oil) and wood vinegar for sale.
- Briquetting (optional): the charcoal briquette machine shapes raw charcoal into round, square or stick forms.

3. HEAT RECIRCULATION & ENERGY-SAVING DESIGN
- Combustible gas recovery: after condensation and sulfur removal, the combustible gas is recovered and reused as fuel for the main furnace - the plant is largely self-sufficient.
- Waste-heat drying loop: excess heat from the carbonization furnace can be channeled into the dryer, recycling gas and saving external fuel.
- Air heat exchanger: improves thermal efficiency by 5-10%.
- Isolated material path: biomass never contacts flue gas, so the charcoal is never polluted by hot air - high heat efficiency with clean product.
- Safety systems: PLC electric cabinet with alarm display, explosion-proof water seal on the combustible-gas pipeline, and variable-frequency fans that steer gas flow and report pipeline blockages on the PLC screen.

4. ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE
Emission gas is treated through a spray tower, water-curtain dedusting tower and cooling tower; treated emissions meet EU emission standards. Weiwa Group supplies a high-standard, customized exhaust-gas treatment system for every plant.

5. ACCEPTED BIOMASS RAW MATERIALS
Any dry biomass under 20 mm with moisture below 15%: fruit husk, wood scraps, sugarcane bagasse, crop stalks, rice husk, coconut shell, peanut/groundnut shell, sunflower seed husk, palm kernel shell, walnut shell, almond shell, pistachio shell - and, with the right configuration, electronic waste, cans, waste wire, sludge or household garbage.

6. BIOCHAR PRODUCT & APPLICATIONS
- Porous structure: specific surface area of 200-500 m2/g - high adsorption capacity for water and nutrients.
- Rich functional groups: hydroxyl and carboxyl groups create active binding sites for minerals, microorganisms and organic matter.
- High stability: aromatized carbon is chemically and thermally stable - biochar can persist in soil for hundreds of years, enabling long-term carbon sequestration and carbon-credit opportunities.
