Dr Altaf is a local and internationally trained Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon. His focus is to deliver high-quality personalized care to his patients. After graduating from the University of Manchester in the UK, Dr Altaf attained a PhD in the study of atherosclerotic disease from the University of Nottingham. After a clinical fellowship at Royal Perth Hospital, he obtained a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS, Edinburgh) and a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). Dr Altaf offers individualised management of venous and arterial diseases utilising a range of minimally invasive endovascular techniques as well as open surgical techniques. Dr Altaf is the Head of Department, Vascular Surgery at Royal Perth Hospital. He is active in vascular research and teaching. He is also an Associate Professor at Curtin University, a Senior Lecturer at UWA and has published over 40 peer-reviewed papers.
